Pas is not a 'boarding house' for politics - Hadi

SHAH ALAM - Pas is not a ball that could be kicked around by other parties for political businesses by promising rank, property and status, says its president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

He said the party he led was not a temporary boarding home for politics.

The Marang MP said Pas stood by its political concept in which it was a part of the religion and could not be played with.

"It is forbidden for all parties to use Islam and try to separate politics from the religion.

"Politics is a tool for religion to implement the teaching, protect it and defend it," he said in a Facebook post, today.

Meanwhile, Hadi said Pas was opened and willing to face any changes in terms of the people's thoughts and attitude that could change.

He added that the party would also work together with other parties, but looking at the priciples and strategy, Pas did not proceed with the cooperation.

"Pas only collaborates with parties with different ideologies, religious beliefs that are peaceful and do not deceive the political process.

"The cooperation is based on the common ground of humanity and justice for all without violating Islamic principles and concepts," he said.

Hadi said Pas' situation was under control and the party had never been deceived by any parties.

"Pas remains successful in terms of cooperation and relationship and the party does not become weak or die when (cooperation) is called off.

"When any party violates the party's policy, forces it to leave the Islamic path or violates mandatory concepts such as the obligation to uphold the Islamic state and its believers by other parties, then Pas would not hesitate to end the cooperation," he explained.
