PUTRAJAYA - Pontian MP DatuK Seri Ahmad Maslan says there will be no DAP and Umno logos on the ballot papers for the upcoming state elections.

He said instead, the state polls will see three biggest coalitions which were Barisan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) contesting.

"There will be no DAP and Umno logos on the ballot papers as we will be contesting as a group," he said in a press conference in conjunction with the launching of the Sustainable Investment Standards Document (SIS) at the Finance Ministry Complex, here, today.

He said his previous statements were being twisted to create extraordinary polemics.

"I feel that it is weird that what I said in my statement was being twisted in such a way," he said.

The Pontian MP said as a party under the unity government, helping one another was crucial in facing the state election in the six states.

"So far we are contesting against the PN logo," he added.

Last week, Ahmad urged voters in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Penang to choose a DAP candidate at their respective constituencies to strengthen the position of the unity government.

This has led to Umno supreme council member Isham Jalil to give a warning that pressuring the voters to choose DAP would decrease the voters' support to the party.

Meawhile, in his speech, Ahmad admitted that PN's success in securing 74 seats in the 15th General Election (GE15) was because the coalition had made use of technology.

"They are the champions on TikTok," he said.

However, he refused to comment further when asked whether Umno or any party in the unity government would use a similar approach for the upcoming state elections.

"It's a secret," he said.
