The Malaysia Golf Junior Association (MGJA) and Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the spirit of ‘friendship and cooperation, promotion of mutual understanding, sporting, cultural and personnel exchange’ creating a significant milestone for both organisations and the sport of Golf between both countries.

SHAH ALAM - The Malaysia Golf Junior Association (MGJA) and Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the spirit of ‘friendship and cooperation, promotion of mutual understanding, sporting, cultural and personnel exchange’ creating a significant milestone for both organisations and the sport of Golf between both countries.

The signing ceremony was held at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Bangladesh.

MGJA President Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim, MGJA Secretary General Mr Shaiful Azwandy, President of Bangladesh Golf Junior Major General Md Moin Khan, Chief Executive of Kurmitola Gold Club Col. Md Shahidul Haque and Joint Secretary of BGF Major Mahmudur Rahman were present for the signing ceremony.

MGJA was established on February, 14 2022 to promote the sport of golf among youths in Malaysia.

It is also to identify young talents and to train and guide them to become professional golfers, and to collaborate with institutions so that they can further excel in the sport.

Similarly, BGF was established in 2008 as an ‘association’ to promote and elevate the interest and standard of the game of golf and provide support and playing opportunities to all professional golfers of Bangladesh.

This MoU aims to enhance the sport of Golf and foster a stronger relationship between the two nations as MGJA and BGF will look into future collaborations especially with regards to promoting golf among the young.

In addition to that, both organisations will look to organising exchange training programmes and tournaments in both Malaysia and Bangladesh.

Irmohizam said MGJA and BGF recognise the importance of providing education and knowledge in the sport of golf.

“Through workshops, seminars, and coaching programs, this collaboration will equip our young golfers with the necessary skills and understanding of the game. It is essential that they develop not only their technical abilities but also their strategic thinking, sportsmanship, and discipline,” he said.

He who is also the Group Managing Director of World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) expressed the importance of merging the business events industry with the Sports industry as this may become a big attraction for sports lovers especially golf enthusiasts in Malaysia and globally.
