SHAH ALAM - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal clarified that there are no intentions to overthrow the government through 'Sheraton Move 2.0'.

Wan Fayhsal admitted that such a thing was impossible at this time considering that the opposition currently has no strength.

"It is not right (planning to topple the government), we are committed to ensuring that the opposition provides a check and balance for the government of the day

"How can we have a plan to make a 'Sheraton Move 2.0' when there was a vote we lost in Parliament last week.

"So the opposition does not have the strength as feared by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim," he said when he was an invited as a guest on the 'Keluar Sekejap' podcast on Friday.

Last week in Parliament, the opposition's attempt to thwart the motion for the session to be postponed as proposed by the government failed when the split vote was not in their favour.

Based on the vote, a total of 83 MPs agreed with the motion while another 52 disagreed, one did not vote and 86 were absent.

Kota Bharu MP Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Bharu) previously asked for a split vote after Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Duties) Datuk Ugak Anak Kumbong suggested that the meeting that day will not be postponed until the Renewable Energy Bill (Amendment) 2023 and the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Bill (Amendment) 2023 have been discussed and decided upon,
