Pas spiritual leader's wife dies
KANGAR - The wife of Pas spiritual leader Datuk Hashim Jasin, Datin Sarah Rejab, passed away on Thursday at Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF) in Kangar.
The 77-year-old passed away at around 7pm as a result of heart failure.
Datin Sarah Rejab, a former Pas Muslimat Council chief, had been married to the former Sanglang assemblyman for more than 50 years.
The news of Datin Sarah's passing was announced by Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli on his Facebook page, where he also expressed his condolences to the family.
"I have received the sad news that Datin Sarah Rejab, the wife of Pas spiritual leader Tuan Guru Hashim Jasin, has passed away. My condolences to the family, and may they find strength in this difficult time," he said.
Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim also expressed his condolences on social media after visiting Hashim at his home on Thursday.
"May Sarah's soul be blessed and placed among the believers by Allah SWT side," he said.
