Sacked Umno leader declines participation in General Assembly

SHAH ALAM - Former Putrajaya Umno deputy chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz has confirmed that he has no intention of participating in the upcoming 2023 Umno General Assembly (PAU) at the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Kuala Lumpur, scheduled to commence on June 7.

The ousted Umno leader openly acknowledged that he will not be present at any party's events as long as Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi remains the leader.

"As long as Zahid is the president, I am not interested in attending it," he said.

Last Friday, Umno secretary-general Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the party would not reject any individual who wanted to join the party's General Assembly, including its former members.

However, only delegates were granted access to the Merdeka Hall.

In jest, he invited the expelled leaders to come and renew their 'samping' Umno.
