KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) has approved the application for a oil palm fruit dealers (DF) licence for a private palm weighing centre in Felda Triang on Feb 9, 2023, after all the application criteria set by the board have been met.

MPOB said the DF licence enables the holder to buy and move fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from small plantations or estates, besides selling and moving FFB to oil palm factories.

"The application of the licence at Felda Triang 1 and Triang 2 has met the criteria and MPOB licensing policies and do not violate any licensing conditions that are enforced on the licence holder,” it said in a statement today.

MPOB said this in response to a report in Utusan Malaysia published on June 1, 2023 on the objection of the private palm weighing centre between Felda Triang 1 and Triang 2, Pahang.

According to MPOB, the palm industry licensing aims to regulate the oil palm industry in a healthy and orderly manner, in line with the development of the oil palm industry which is dynamic and to ensure that the palm industry grows successfully and competitively. - BERNAMA
