Like it or not, Umno has to accept the Unity Government - Puteri Umno
KUALA LUMPUR - Like it or not, Umno has to accept the political dynamic of the current mixed government, says Puteri Umno chief.
Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi said Puteri Umno should welcome the unity government for the survival of the party, people, country and a stable government.
"Our political culture and tradition might be different, but for the sake of Puteri Umno’s movement, let's make a paradigm shift by opening up space to work with other parties under the Unity Government.
"Willingly or not willingly, we should accept the politics," she said in the Puteri Umno annual-general meeting at the World Trade Centre, here, today.
Amal advised Puteri Umno members that their party's identity would not be abandoned by joining hands with the unity government.
She added her party accepted political dynamics as long as their struggle was not pawned and made fool of.
Therefore, she stressed that Umno always welcomed and promoted healthy political empowerment and urged Puteri Umno to make use of such opportunities and learn new things.
"We are still Umno with the same fundamentals and we will continue our struggle," she stressed.
Commenting further, Amal said that Umno was the 'binding factor' to the formation of today’s Unity Government.
"Look at our leaders who are in the cabinet now. With their experience as government leaders, their devotional service is still needed, to assist in administrating the country.
"This is a matter of pride for us because as we know, Umno is the home where great leaders are born.
"Umno is the 'binding factor', to the formation of the government today, because we are a party with a stable organisational base," she said.
