SEREMBAN - The Local Government Development Ministry (KPKT) has allocated a total of RM31.04 million to carry out housing projects and works to repair and maintain public facilities in Jempol near here under the ‘Sentuhan Kasih KPKT’ initiative.

Minister Nga Kor Ming said of the total amount, RM24 million was set aside for the construction of the People's Housing Project (PPR) in Kampung Datuk Johan involving 100 units of one-storey terrace houses.

"The terrace houses are going to be built on 3.5 hectares of land and the construction is expected to start early next year which will meet the needs of the people to own affordable homes.

"The rest of the allocation is for maintaining public facilities and infrastructure in the district, including the upgrading of the Bahau Public Market, the construction of a covered square in Taman Meranti and the Palong 6 Fire and Rescue Station," he said in a statement here today.

He said the allocation was KPKT’s 'touch of love' to improve the quality of public facilities and housing, especially around Bahau as part of the effort to intensify and stimulate the economy to benefit the locals.

Nga said the allocation is to improve the delivery of its services and to continue ensuring the people’s well-being is looked after. - BERNAMA
