POKOK SENA - Pakatan Harapan (PH) is unfazed with former well known Umno leaders joining Perikatan Nasional (PN) ahead of the upcoming elections in the six states.

Amanah vice president Datuk Mahfuz Omar said it was due to a portion of the leaders having a record of being 'leaders who are not clean' and involved with certain cases.

He said their involvement would not cause the support for PH to fade and it would make any major differences.

"PH is unfazed because I think the announcement of the figures have some questionable names, their records aren't clean," he said in a press conference after the Pokok Sena Regional Farmers' Association (PPK) members programme held together with the Farmers' Association Board (LPP) chairman here on Tuesday.

Mahfuz was commenting on former BN secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa's involvement in Pas, which was announced on Saturday.

PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin on Monday said PN will announce the list of 10 Umno 'warlords' who were to join the coalition soon.

Other than former Umno chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar, former health minister and former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin were said to be among the individuals that would join PN.

Mahfuz who was the Kedah PH chairman described Annuar's involvement in Pas as someone looking for a place to take shelter.

"Annuar himself stated he was not interested in Bersatu meaning he himself did not accept Bersatu's leadership, he is merely looking for a place where he felt he had influence, that's all," he said.

Mahfuz stated the PH-BN coalition and the the unity government had figures and big names that could compete with PN leaders.

"The figures in PH, BN are well known. We have Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, that's how big our leadership is.

"They joined the other coalition (PN) as they were small fries, So now they would surely become major figures," he said.

He said PH-BN did not require similar strategies by PN in their efforts of gaining votes.

When asked whether Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir would once again hold a discussion with PH towards facing the state elections Mahfuz said no new negotiations were done between both parties.
