Kelantan to dissolve state assembly on June 22

KOTA BHARU - Kelantan has officially declared the dissolution of its State Legislative Assembly on June 22.

Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said that the decision had been made in order to facilitate the upcoming state election following the conclusion of the current term of the State Legislative Assembly on June 27.

The announcement was made by Ahmad after presiding over the Exco meeting in Kota Darulnaim on Wednesday.

He further mentioned that the chosen dissolution date had received the approval of Kelantan Sultan Sultan Muhammad V, following an audience with him.

"As per the law, the 14th term of the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly will come to an end on June 27," he clarified.
