SHAH ALAM - The participation of former Umno Youth leader Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar in an economic discussion with the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Friday had raised a question.

The former Rembau Member of Parliament (MP) attended the meeting with several economic experts including Titiwangsa MP Datuk Seri Johari Ghani.

The meeting was to form a Civic Economic Narrative which is being drafted to shape the direction of the country's economy in the medium and long term.

According to Anwar, his party now has limited time to solve the problems or challenges that plague the country's economy and to bring Malaysia back on the right track.

He said that despite this, the government is determined and will work hard to drive inclusive and sustainable growth.

The question now; was Khairy Jamaluddin's presence in the meeting a sign of support for the Unity Government?

It is well known that his relationship with Umno is very cold at the moment.

It is proven by one of his comments on Facebook that the party in question will be done' in the upcoming state election.

Nevertheless, there are rumours that he will be contesting on Perikatan Nasional (PN) ticket to battle against the Unity Government component parties.

Otherwise, is it possible that Khairy Jamaluddin will join Anwar's camp under Pakatan Harapan (PH) which seems friendlier.

Whatever it is, another political 'plot twist' just happened again.
