BN aims to contest in 14 Selangor state seats, says Lokman

Umno supreme council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam said the party's intention is to contest in one state constituency for each parliamentary seat in the state.
However, he acknowledged that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) holds a stronger position as it won 16 out of 22 parliamentary seats in Selangor during the 15th general election (GE15) held in November last year.
He said BN will contest from the six remaining seats.
He said this during the launch Unity Government machinery for the Sungai Panjang state seat at Parit 16, last night.
The Sungai Panjang state seat is the first machinery in the state to be launched through the collaborative efforts of both BN and PH.
He urged supporters of BN and PH to provide strong support to the Unity Government candidate to ensure victory.
"If BN supporters back the PH-BN government, we have a chance to win as we still have influence in Malay areas while 98 per cent of Chinese and Indians are still with PH," he said.
"If we combine the voters from both BN and PH, we can win and maintain the current state government," he said.
