KUALA LUMPUR - The Road Transport Department (RTD) will contact the owner of the McLaren, who allegedly used a different registration number which went viral on social media.

Kuala Lumpur Federal Territories (WPKL) RTD deputy director Erick Jusiang stated that he will instruct the issuance of a summons notice to the vehicle owner to assist in the investigation.

"After reviewing the data, we found that the information on the McLaren did not match the records in the mySIKAP system.

"We have issued a notice to the vehicle owner to facilitate the investigation," he said during a press conference at the WPKL RTD headquarters on Tuesday.

Sinar reported on Tuesday that Aliff Awang, the husband of actress Fatin Afeefa, came forward to clarify the situation regarding the license plate used on the McLaren, which was not a valid registered number.

Aliff, also known as Opai on his Instagram, stated that he did not receive any call or letter from the RTD, contrary to previous claims.
