Amanah prepared to defend eight Selangor state seats, says Dzulkefly

KUALA SELANGOR - Amanah is ready to defend eight Selangor state seats it currently holds in the upcoming election, according to its strategic director, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

He said Amanah is determined to win all eight seats.

“If we compete (in elections) we would want to win and not compete to lose,” he said during his visit to the Social Security Organisation (Socso) Benefit Payment Programme for an accident victim in Kampung Parit Mahang on Wednesday.

When asked on the seats Amanah would be contesting in the Selangor election, he said the total number of seats would be announced by the top leadership soon.

“We should leave it to the top leadership to decide as we have discussions and we are ready to face the election,” he said.

He acknowledged the possibility that Pakatan Harapan (PH) facing a fierce competition from Perikatan Nasional (PN).

“We want to have a healthy campaign and not tear it apart with racial issues. Let it be fierce but let it be healthy,” he added.

He said the public continues to show their support for the Selangor government, acknowledging their consistent efforts in solving key issues such as employment, healthcare, and the economy over multiple terms.
