State polls: Azmin challenged to contest in Bukit Antarabangsa

SHAH ALAM - Selangor Perikatan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is described as embarrassing himself when he criticised the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Communications deputy director Danish Hairudin said Anwar and Amirudin’s leadership were far better compared to the former Gombak MP.

He said Azmin’s humiliating loss in Gombak in the 15th general election (GE15) proved he people rejected his leadership in Selangor.

“Azmin is vague and speaking arrogantly, he forgot that he was rejected by the people of Gombak when he lost almost 13,000 votes to Amirudin in GE15.

“If Azmin is truly a man he must be brave enough to defend the Bukit Antarabangsa state seat and not run away or pretend to take a break to not compete in the current Selangor state election.

He said such when commenting on Azmin’s speech in the Selangor PN Election Convention that attacked Anwar’s leadership on the argument of not being able to see the unity government’s direction in developing the nation.

Danish said the unity government was consistent in governing the country with good governance and eliminating corruption to enable the country to develop and providing confidence to investors.

He said the matter was clear when the first quarter of Malaysia’s growth overtook Singapore, Indonesia and China with investment values reaching RM71 billion for the first four months.

Danish deflected Azmin’s statement who claimed that he raised Amirudin as Selangor Menteri Besar.

“Amirudin was made as Selangor Menteri Besar on PKR’s name that placed him on the position based on party spirit and not because of some individual named Azmin Ali,” he said.

He said the Selangor people were smart in evaluating candidates who are truly sincere, with principles and did not betray the mandate given.

“The Menteri Besar now represented a leader who is far more competent in governing the state compared to Azmin.

“Amirudin’s excellent performance driving Selangor is enough to give a clear and unambiguous picture towards the people of Selangor to continue supporting PH in governing the state,” he said.
