IPOH- Parti Ikatan Demokratik Malaysia (Muda) has been requested to reconsider its decision to run alone in the upcoming state elections

According to the Prime Minister's Senior Political Secretary, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, said the party's initial decision must be accepted and respected by all.

"However, I hope Muda's president will take this decision into consideration because Muda is a member of the party that supports the Unity Government."

"Muda wants to contest in all the state elections, that's why we're asking because the Unity Government will also contest ," he said after completing the Tambun Parliament Hari Raya Aidiladha programme at the Baitul Ridzuan-MAPIM Education Complex in Manjoi on Tuesday.

It was reported on Monday that Muda President, Syed Saddiq Syed Abd Rahman, had opted to go solo in the state electionst ushering in a paradigm shift in the current national political climate.

Muda will run against PH and BN, as well as Perikatan Nasional (PN), which includes Pas, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), and Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Gerakan).

Following this decision, PKR Muar had decided against any type of collaboration with Muda during the state elections.
