PORT DICKSON - Arau MP, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim expressed confidence in the strong support of Umno members for Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the upcoming State Elections (PRN) in six states.

He acknowledged that many Umno members still need to be satisfied with the current leadership style of the party.

"In Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu, Umno members will not support Umno alone but will back PN. We will secure convincing victories in those states.

"In Selangor, Umno will support PN, and we are putting up a strong fight in Penang. We won't give them an easy win. We might even form the government," he stated during his speech at the Ceramah Perdana Gelombang Nismilan Kito Ubah event at the Pas Port Dickson headquarters on Sunday.

Shahidan further expressed confidence that a similar scenario will unfold in Negeri Sembilan.

He stressed that this support was evident during the previous 15th General Election when he received 31,458 votes, with the majority coming from Umno members.

"In Arau, Perlis, there were 11,000 Pas members and 3,000 Bersatu members, yet I received 31,458 votes. Who supported me? It is estimated that the strong support came from Umno members.

"Umno is currently facing insults from the people. When former DAP Publicity Secretary, Tony Pua, called Umno a corrupt party, shouldn't they be ashamed?" he questioned.

Meanwhile, Masjid Tanah MP Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, echoed similar sentiment and claims to have received messages of dissatisfaction from her Umno colleagues regarding the party's current situation.

She noted that Umno is aware of this situation but is in a state of denial, releasing statements claiming that their members have already accepted the situation just to appease themselves.

"They are not willing to be part of this Madani Government; many disagree. Their hearts are deeply wounded, and I urge them not to deceive themselves," she added.
