SHAH ALAM - Actions will be taken on reports of child-like sex dolls being on the e-commerce platform, says Shopee.

The e-commerce giant said on its Twitter account, "Thank you for your report. We have informed the relevant team to take further action."

Online portal Free Malaysia Today had earlier reported that Shopee also advised the public to file a complaint against it if they encountered any sellers or products on the platform that did not comply with its policies.

According to its report, the sale of sex dolls resembling children on Shopee has raised the alarm for social media users.

A Twitter user posted that her friend came across the dolls while browsing Shopee.

"She came across sex toys, which is fine, but what’s not fine is that these sex toys have a child’s body," she said.

She also shared the links to the products that were sold by Shopee seller "sexymarina" with a price range of RM1,400 to RM1,500 each.

In the product review section, users have commented about the "quality of the item being as advertised" and "very detailed on every part of the body." Based on checks, the child-like sex dolls have been removed by the seller.

One Twitter user commented that the seller’s account should be reported to Shopee, adding that it was "enabling child rapists."
