NEW DELHI - At least two people were killed in a huge fire at a pharmaceutical company in India's Andhra Pradesh state on Friday.

There was a blast in a reactor when solvents were being mixed at Sahithi Pharma Private Limited located in the Atchutapuram special industrial zone in the Anakapalli district near Visakhapatnam, local media reported.

"Two persons who had sustained 90 per cent chemical burns in the blast succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at KGH Hospital in Visakhapatnam," news agency PTI reported.

Five more were injured in the blast.

About three dozen workers were present at the reactors when the incident happened. - BERNAMA
