KUALA TERENGGANU - The entire leadership and machinery of Perikatan Nasional (PN) especially Pas are reminded to not feel comfortable with the green wave tsunami from the 15th General Election (GE15) last year because voting patterns can change.

Pas vice president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said that what is important now is to work hard to maintain the momentum ahead of the state polls.

"The huge victory achieved by Pas especially in Terengganu in GE15 cannot be used as a yardstick for the state election this time.

"Therefore, I hope the machinery from PN, Pas and others do not get comfortable with the existing position, with the existing momentum.

"We will keep it up... God willing, we will achieve better success than the last election," he told reporters after attending the Terengganu Foundation Imtiaz Secondary Schools Graduation and Memorisation Awards Ceremony at Wisma Darul Iman on Thursday.

Samsuri also pointed that PN has its own strategy and bears no fear towards BN's (Barisan Nasional) confidence with its coalition partners to capture Terengganu and Kedah in this state polls.

"In the 2018 general election, Pas was said to only win a seat in Kelantan and would disappear in Terengganu, but what happened was the other way around, so I don't bother what is said by either Pakatan Harapan (PH) or BN who said that they gained momentum.

"For us, we have work to do before our eyes. There were studies conducted and we are not just flattering ourselves with those studies," he said.

However, the Umno deputy president said that the desire needs to be followed by the right actions and a good strategy in order to realise the victory.
