ALOR SETAR - Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor warns parties attempting to involve his family in slander as state polls approach.

Those who attempt it will face serious consequences, he said, adding that the state election campaign attacks should be directed at him instead of dragging his family into the fray.

"If you disturb me, I will simply smile. However, if you disturb my family, you will have to bear the consequences. There would be nowhere left to run," Sanusi said in a short message uploaded on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

His statement was reportedly related to his denial on Tuesday that the extravagant bungalow in the Sik district was owned by him.

The Kedah Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman uploaded a clip that was the dialogue of protagonist Bryan Mills in the Taken (2018) film, acted by Liam Neeson.

"Bryan Nusi once said, I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money.

"But what I do have are a very particular set of skills that I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you," he uploaded.

Kedah Menteri Besar's office on Tuesday released a statement deflecting the claims of Sanusi owning the bungalow in Sik, which went viral on social media.

The statement said the bungalow near Sik Hospital was owned by Sanusi's brother Budin who had built the home using his own money from his income as a commercial diver for decades.

The viral social media post showed the bungalow supposedly owned by Sanusi.

The video was reportedly intended to raise questions about whether Sanusi had built the bungalow with his wealth collected as Menteri Besar.
