Siti Kassim's car bomb: police recorded testimony of 9 witnesses

KUALA LUMPUR - The police have recorded the statements of nine witnesses to assist in the investigation related to the case of the discovery of a homemade bomb on the car tires belonging to lawyer, Siti Kasim. The discovery was made at the vehicle service center in Jalan Maarof, Bangsar here, last Friday.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said closed circuit television (CCTV) footages had also been obtained to assist the investigation.

"The police are investigating every CCTV involving the place reported by the victim," he said in a statement on Monday.

Earlier, Brickfields District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor confirmed that the two objects found at the bottom of Siti Kasim's car or her real name Siti Zabedah Kassim, were Improvised Explosive Device (IED) bombs.

He was reported to have said that it was based on an investigation carried out by the Bomb Disposal Unit (UPB).

Last Friday, Siti Kasim claimed in a Facebook live broadcast that an object resembling a bomb had been placed in her car.

Siti Kasim said she noticed the object placed on the tire when she sent her vehicle to the vehicle service center at 12 noon.
