SHAH ALAM - Controversial American stand-up comedian Jocelyn Chia is under the spotlight again, this time with her tweet welcoming disgraced British band The 1975's frontman Matty Healy to the'gang of cool kids' whom she claimed had been 'cancelled' by the country.

Chia had previously made headlines over her joke about the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 and it was previously reported that the Royal Malaysia Police has sought for Interpol's assistance to find out her full identity and whereabouts.

In her tweet, Chia questioned the lack of calls for Healy’s arrest and for Interpol to track him down for breaking the laws while he was in the country.

"Welcome Matty Healy to the gang of cool kids 'canceled' by Malaysia lol.

"But wait a minute. Where are the calls for his arrest and Interpol to track him down for actually breaking Malaysian law while in Malaysia? Has Malaysia gone soft?

"Or could it be.. Gasp.. No...what was it some peeps said about why I was so targeted and I didn't really believe...Because he's a white guy?!?! Nah can't be. Malaysia can't possibly have such double standards now can it?," she wrote.

On Friday night, The 1975's peformance at the Good Vibes Festival 2023 held at the Sepang International Circuit was halted after Healy portrayed a disrespectful act in front of fans.

The singer was accused of holding a bottle of alcohol while on stage and making a speech insulting Malaysia's laws related to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT).

Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil then announced for the immediate cancellation of the rest of the music festival, organised by Future Sound Asia.

In a separate tweet, she Chia had ridiculed the country for ironically 'figuring out the formula for making world news' and offering a 'formula for artists to get more fame.

"Massively overreact to foreign acts + minister level criticism = (BBC + CNN +ABC + CBS) to the power of (IG)(Twitter)(threads)(Facebook).

"I was catapulted to the front page of CNN and the BBC when the Malaysian police requested Interpol for assistance in locating me (also on CBS, Newsweek etc, Television appearances on FOX, ABC, TMZ) And now Malaysia has made intl news again for canceling an ENTIRE music festival because ONE male singer kissed another dude on stage.

"Ironically, they are also offering a formula for artists to get more fame (I've not heard of this singer til now and now I'm a fan, and neither had my new found fans heard of me until Malaysia kicked up a fuss). So if Malaysia wants to stop making artists they disapprove of more famous, they actually need to chill (or as they say in Malaysia "relak lah bro").

"For all we know Matty Healy (who is British) decided to do this after seeing me on the front page of the @BBCWorld lol," she wrote in the post.

Her posts about Malaysia has received backlash from netizens in the country, with some asking her to stay out of Malaysia's business.
