Azmin to contest in Hulu Kelang, Rina Harun in Batu Tiga

SHAH ALAM - Perikatan Nasional has announced its lineup of prominent candidates for the Selangor state elections on Aug 12, with former Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, set to contest in his hometown of Hulu Kelang.
As an influential figure, Azmin Ali's decision to run in the Hulu Kelang constituency has drawn significant attention from the electorate.
Having previously served as Selangor Menteri Besar, his candidacy carries weight and is expected to be a closely watched contest during the upcoming elections.
In addition to Azmin Ali's candidacy, Wanita Bersatu chief, Datuk Seri Rina Harun, will be competing in Batu Tiga.
Last month, Azmin stated that he would not rule out contesting in the upcoming Selangor state election despite his earlier announcement in Feb that he would be taking a break from politics.
Meanwhile, several of Azmin's associates also appear on the candidates list, including Muhammad Hilman Idham in Gombak Setia and Dr Afif Bahardin in Taman Medan.
In Tanjong Karang, Nurul Syazwani, the daughter of the constituency's former Umno leader Tan Sri Noh Omar, will be contesting the Permatang state seat.
Bersatu is fielding candidates in 31 seats in Selangor, followed by Pas with 17 and Gerakan with 8.
