SHAH ALAM - Independent candidate for the Paya Jaras State Legislative Assembly Nurhaslinda Basri insists that her participation in the Selangor state election this time is not just to contest against the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Khairuddin Othman but instead, its chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said it was because the Prime Minister was seen to be violating some principles while disappointing his own supporters at the same time when he collaborated with Barisan Nasional.

"He once called them robbers, but ended up becoming friends with them.

"Anwar is willing to be friends with people whom he called bandits mainly to gain power "she said after the nomination ceremony at the Kenanga Hall of the Petaling Land and District Office, here, today.

Nurhaslinda added that the welfare of the people has not been very encouraging throughout Anwar's administration.

"He has won but with a lot of help," she said.

Earlier, the Paya Jaras State Assembly Seat N38 witnessed a three-cornered clash in the Selangor state election.

The others contesting in the state seat were Perikatan Nasional candidate Datuk Dr Ab Halim Tamuri and Khairuddin (PH).
