BANGI - The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) aims to reach RM1 billion in sales next year for residential and industrial projects, said its deputy chief executive officer (Property Development) Md Kamarzan Md Rais.

Md Kamarzan said the target could be achieved through 15 projects in five areas, namely Selangor Cyber Valley in Cyberjaya, Antara Gapi in Serendah, Kota Puteri in Rawang, Bandar Sierra Alam in Shah Alam and Kota Kemuning Industrial Area.

"PKNS is targeting RM1 billion this year, but due to the slow economy, thus far we have only achieved RM600 million in sales.

"Hopefully the economy will improve next year and we will be able to launch the projects as planned,” he told reporters after officiating the Discover PKNS@Selangor Cyber Valley here today.

PKNS was established on Aug 1, 1965, under the Selangor State Development Corporation Enactment 1964 which acts as a housing, industrial, business and investment development agency.

Md Kamarzan said PKNS will actively organise promotional activities through the Discover PKNS programme as one of the promotional methods to attract public attention to the projects developed by the agency.

He said that among the interesting activities were real estate exhibitions and free consultations related to housing loans.

"There is also a booth set up by Samsung, which is our strategic partner. Hence, any buyer of a PKNS home will get a discount on the purchase of Samsung electronics,” he said.
