HULU KELANG - Many individuals in Selangor missed the opportunities to enjoy several benefits and aid due to the lack of awareness of the programmes as well as initiatives implemented by the state government.

Huli Kelang Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Juwairiya Zulkifli said she aimed to increase the programmes of meeting the public through a mobile counter to raise awareness of residents on the matter.

She said there were eligible residents who did not know of the existence of such programmes despite the initiative being implemented for over 10 years.

“Many didn’t know of the programmes and initiatives under the state and Federal government because they lack the knowledge to access them and the explanations never made it to them.

“If I was given the mandate I will reach out to the communities, go on the ground and open registration counters as well as offer the state government programmes to them,” she said in a while visiting residents at Rumah Pangsa AU3 here on Saturday.

She had the opportunity to meet a family of seven who inhabited a two-bedroom unit.

Juwairiya said the family was eligible for the housing aid under the Rumah Selangorku, Rumah Idaman as well as Rumah Harapan schemes.

“The state government introduced the rent-to-own programme as well as the purchase of A to D category homes worth between RM45,000 to RM250,000.

“The case of this family, if the child as well as the child-in-law worked and could make a loan. If they fulfilled the conditions, they are eligible to apply for the schemes offered,” she said.

She said many initiatives were created by the state government to raise the living standards of Selangor residents including assisting businesses and 100,000 new job opportunities that would be created within a five-year period that would be done by PH if they continued to administer Selangor.

“The chances and space are there, several initiatives were prepared, maybe the information didn’t reach them.

“We must go further with the reskilling and upskilling career carnival as those involved in the food delivery sector can be equipped with skills programmes for their survival in the future,” she said.

Juwairiya said if given the mandate, she would focus on solving the development and infrastructure aspects that required improvements especially those involving the issue of road maintenance as well as sports and recreation facilities in Hulu Kelang.
