SHAH ALAM - The Selangor police have initiated an investigation into a case involving a Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate's billboard that was destroyed by an anonymous individual on Saturday.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that the paper was made under Section 427 of the Penal Code.

"The Selangor police had received 55 reports and opened an investigation paper in regards to the state election on Saturday," he said in a statement on Sunday.

Hussein said that a total of 54 police reports had been classified as NOD (no offence closed), which is a report made without any offence or arrest.

"The report was made by the Cantas Ops Team, which conducted inspections at several Selangor state poll Cantas Ops locations," he said.

He said that his party found only one campaign carried out without a permit.

"As of Saturday, 286 campaigns and 90 ceramahs were conducted with permits," he said.

According to him, all candidates should not install party flags, banners, and posters on the fence of government premises and houses of worship.
