KOTA BHARU - Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has proposed to reduce land premiums of up to 70 per cent for the people of Kelantan if the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) coalition wins in the upcoming state election on Aug 12.

Previously, land premiums reduction was offered at 50 per cent in the PH-BN Kelantan manifesto.

"If possible, a reduction of 70 per cent will be granted for home construction, property taxes, and land taxes," he said during Unity Madani Campaign speech in Jalan Kebun Sultan, last night.

Also present was Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Zahid said additionally, the construction of new homes in Kelantan will incur a fee of RM9,000 per lot.

The UMno president further said land premium payments are also high in Kelantan.

"This reduction will benefit the people of Kelantan in building homes and owning land. While we may not receive revenue from these land taxes, increased investment in Kelantan will lead to taxes from the industries," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the BN-PH coalition presented 34 proposals as part of their manifesto to the people of Kelantan, this includes Islamic outreach, economy, education, women and youth as well as the Northern Kelantan Development Corporation.

Other proposals include initiatives to reduce land premiums by up to 50 per cent and free parking.
