Polls: Siew Kim pledges to focus on women, youth, family, community welfare, development in Sungai Pinang

JELUTONG - Sungai Pinang candidate Lim Siew Khim is committed to focus on women, youth, family and community welfare as well as development issues, if she wins the Sungai Pinang state seat in the state election on Aug 12.

Lim who is currently holding the Sungai Pinang state seat said if she was given the opportunity, she wanted to be involved in policy making which will address the strategic needs of Penangites and bring benefit in Sungai Pinang.

"I am aligned with the state Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto and can see a huge opportunity for Sungai Pinang to grow further tapping into what the state will offer.

"I remain focus on women, youth, family and community welfare and development, while ensuring that Sungai Pinang has the supportive infrastructure for us to grow.

"I want Sungai Pinang and Penang to be a place which is friendly for all walks of life and that includes transportation, housing, social participation and inclusiveness," she said in an exclusive interview with Sinar Daily.

When asked about how confident she was in winning the state polls, she said she was highly confident as her voters will not let her down.

"I am confident as I believe that my voters are very familiar with me being on the ground all these years. Being born and raised in Sungai Pinang, I am close with the community and given my best to them all these years.

"I am also confident that they won’t let me down and will show up for me too.

"They have seen how Sungai Pinang has developed in terms of facilities and services. People’s welfare is always my top priority and I strive hard to ensure that people in Sungai Pinang have food on their table, even during the pandemic," she said.

Lim will be facing a four-cornered fight in the Sungai Pinang seat this time against Andrew Rajah (independent), Ng Fook On (Gerakan) and Abdul Ghani Haroon (Parti Rakyat Malaysia).
