ND Lala, wife divorced after 34 years of marriage
The 34-year marriage bond of popular 1980s singer Datuk Amir Amzah Salleh or better known as ND Lala with his wife Datin Fauziah Sarman has finally come to an end.
The news was shared by Fauziah through her Instagram account.
The mother of singers Shila Amzah and Syada Amzah revealed that ND Lala pronounced the divorce for the first time on Aug 2 and the second time yesterday (Aug 8).
"Assalamualaikum everyone. Alhamdulillah, by Allah's permission and the strength of His love, I want to inform everyone that I have received the pronouncement of divorce through a WhatsApp message sent on the morning of Aug 8, 2023.
"For a marriage that lasted for 34 years, my former husband pronounced the divorce on Aug 2 at the Ar Rahman mosque in Bangsar and I was informed yesterday (Aug 8) via WhatsApp.
"Alhamdulillah, Allah has given me incredible strength to accept this fate. I accept all of this with an open heart because I believe that my prayers and the prayers of those who have always been there for me through the years give me a reason to attain a better, peaceful, and perfect life," she wrote.
She shared that she wrote the post to clarify her status so that no slander would arise and for her to accept her fate.
Through Instagram, Fauziah asked the public to pray for her to remain strong.
"Pray for me to remain as strong as I have been throughout the years of living in this deceit.
"What has become history, I will keep as a source of strength in building a life to receive more blessings from Allah, without hurting anyone's feelings because I am well aware of the grave sins among humans.
"Thank you to those who have been part of my long and difficult journey. Only Allah SWT can repay your kindness and love," she added.
Previously, ND Lala was linked to controversies regarding the marriage of a popular male singer from the 80s, rumored to have married a younger woman.
However, there have been no clarification or statements regarding the issue.
Earlier, the couple's marriage was said to be in turmoil. However, Shila denied the speculations and explained that her parents' marriage was going through a difficult phase.
ND Lala and Fauziah were married in 1989. They were blessed with four children, namely Nurshahila, 33, Amir Syafiq, 30, Amir Syahir, 28, and Nur Syuhada, 25. - SINARPLUS
