SHAH ALAM - Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for the Jeram seat, Datuk Harrison Hassan, is confident that his over 20 years of experience in his political career can help address the daily issues faced by the people in the area.

Harrison said the locals are currently dealing with daily problems such as pipe leaks, drains, grass, and traffic lights, for which has not been resolved by the state government's administration.

"As a leader, we shouldn't promise everything; we should understand various administrative processes and problems under the authority of certain parties.

"So, armed with some experience in ministries and such, I understand the government's working system in requesting allocations, the process, the time it takes, who is responsible from various parties, whether it is the director-general or others.

"I will apply this when dealing with the people's daily issues or solving problems," he said.

He made these remarks during "Sinar Live" titled "Controversy does not hinder the desire to win the hearts of the people", hosted by Asraf Awaluddin, on Thursday.

In the Selangor state polls, Harrison will face BN candidate Datuk Jahaya Ibrahim, Umno Kuala Selangor Division Chief, in a straight fight.

Considering the daily problems that people have been facing for a long time, Harrison said a realignment approach needs to be implemented to ensure that these issues can be managed systematically and under control.

"I acknowledge that these problems persist, but why, up to this day, have the past leaders or the current government been unable to resolve or control these issues? "Recently, I visited a village in Jeram, where pipe leaks have been a recurring issue experienced by the villagers almost every week for two years.

"So, after investigating and conducting surveys, it might be the implementation at the local authority or state government levels that has failed," he said.
