IC used by unidentified individuals, 2 police reports lodged

SHAH ALAM - Sungai Buloh Distirc Police has received two police reports of identity cards belonging to registered voters being used by unidentified individuals.

District Police Chief (KPD) Sungai Buloh Superintendent Shafa'aton Abu Bakar said investigations on both cases are being conducted under Section 7 of the Election Offences Act 1954.

"In the first case, a police report was filed today at 1.12 pm by a 53-years-old private school teacher.

"The incident took place at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh," stated Superintendent Shafa'aton in her statement.

A similar case was filed today at 3.59 p.m.

The victim is a 44-year-old housewife and the incident took place at Sekolah Menengah Subang Bestari, she added.

Meanwhile, one victim named Shahidah Musa posted on her Facebook account, claiming that her registered name had purportedly been used to vote.

"I have just returned from the polling station but I was denied my rights as someone has already used my name.

"Whoever did this, please come forward and admit it quickly!

"You have no work to do and you want to deceive by using my vote?

"These are truly phantom voters. Scammers nowadays are really dangerous," Shahidah said in her Facebook post today.
