Altimet first mainstream rapper to win state seat

KUALA LUMPUR - Pakatan Harapan candidate Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad or Altimet became the first mainstream rapper in the nation to win a state seat.
He contested in the Lembah Jaya state seat, won with a majority of 6,707 and garnering 26,116 votes.
The opponent Sharifah Haslizah Syed Ariffin from Perikatan Nasional (PN) gained 19,409 votes.
Lembah Jaya state seat was previously held by Haniza Mohamed Talha from PKR with a majority of 14,790 after gaining 22,512 votes.
She defeated Muhamad Nizam from BN (7,722 votes), Khasim Abdul Aziz (Pas) with 7,358 votes and Norizwan (Parti Rakyat Malaysia) with 177 votes who lost the deposit.
