'My father said to take good care of his picture'

SEPANG - "My father gave two pictures to me. He said to take good care of it," says the child of a e-hailing driver Sharipuddin Shaari, 53, who was a victim of the aircraft crash in Elmina, Seksyen U16, Shah Alam.

The eldest son Muhammad Sharul Izuan, 16, said he knew about the incident after police officers came to his home at 6pm.

He said their family was shocked and did not believe that their father was involved in the incident.

"The morning of the incident (Thursday) before leaving to school I spoke with my father who filling his car water tank.

"Our family had gone to the mall in Sepang last week to purchase my sister's books, he gave two of his pictures for me to keep. He simply said take it and keep it," he said when met by Sinar at their home in Taman Desa Vista here on Friday.

Sharul spoke in a sad tone and said around 2.15pm during the day of the incident his father managed to contact his mother informing her he wanted to stop for a drink in Elmina.

"It was the last time he (father) called my mother. He said he wanted to stop for a drink and he would be back soon," he said.

The form four student in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi said three days ago he had spoken a lot about his late father with his friend.

"Usually my father would eat dinner, but that day (Wednesday) he did not want to eat and told me to eat.

"When I received the news I couldn't believe it. However, after looking at the dashcam, it was my father, we had to accept it," he said.

The incident at 2.40pm on Thursday had Sharipudin who worked as an e-hailing driver going through the area before an aircraft carrying six passengers and two pilots had lost control and crashed into the Nissan Almera vehicle he drove.

Sharipuddin who was from Arau, Perlis died leaving a young widow Suriana Muda, 43, and two children, Muhammad Sharul as well as Nur Izzara Arissya, 9.

It was reported that Sharipuddin's body would be buried in the Sultan Hishamuddin Mosque, Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi Islamic Cemetery.
