KOTA BHARU - Kelantan Umno chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub adviced Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud to watch his words when speaking.

Ahmad Jazlan hoped Mohd Nassuruddin would govern the state based on the Quran’s guidance and the hadith as well as preserve harmony among Muslims and to find an understanding and not differences that would serve to divide Muslims.

“Implement the responsibility that was bestowed upon you to the best of your ability as it comes with a heavy trust from Allah SWT to a Muslim leader,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Ahmad Jazlan shared his disappointment and felt offended by Nassuruddin’s statement earlier which implied that the two Assemblymen from BN and Pakatan Harapan (PH) were against the Islamic struggle.

He stated that those from Umno who fought for Islam and Malays would not go against Islamic struggles as it was not an exclusive right to a singular party.

Ahmad Jazlan said statements as such were dangerous as it could lead to different interpretations from the public as if Islam was owned by Pas exclusively despite Muslims in BN and PH were also implementing the same islamic commandments.

“Matters as such would affect the harmony between Muslims in Kelantan when the takfiri (disbelieving) towards other Muslims becomes a game for politicians to legitimise their actions,” he said.

Sinar previously reported that Nassuruddin was urged to make an open apology towards the Galas and Kota Lama state representatives as well as BN and PH voters within seven days starting on Sunday.

The apology followed Nassuruddin’s statement which labelled both representatives as going against Islam while delivering a lecture at the Medan Ilmu, here on Firday.

However, Nassuruddin reminded the opposition not to be offended easily in politics.
