KUALA SELANGOR - The Selangor government is reminded not to marginalise the progress in Kuala Selangor even though all five State Legislative Assemblies were won by the opposition in the state election on Aug 12.

Former Selangor Umno chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar said the state government under the leadership of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari needed to set aside political issues in efforts to develop the state.

"As a former leader in Selangor, I want to see the state developed fairly for all the people," he said when met at the Jalur Gemilang distribution programme to hawkers in Pekan Tanjung Karang, today.

He said therefore, the state government must provide equal allocations to all opposition assemblymen for the development and improvement of the socioeconomic status of the people.

"Even though the five state assemblies in the Kuala Selangor were won by the opposition, we hope that the state government would be fair to the assemblymen to develop the constituency together with the state government," he said.

He said in the constituency’s election history, there were two Parliaments and five state assemblies and six of the seven seats were won by the opposition.

"In this constituency (Kuala Selangor), Pakatan Harapan (PH) only won one parliamentary seat, while the Tanjong Karang Parliament and all five state assemblies were won by Perikatan Nasional (PN).

“This has never happened that Kuala Selangor is controlled by the opposition. This area used to be a Barisan Nasional (BN) stronghold, but today it has changed when it became a Pas and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) stronghold," he said.
