Kampung Kanchong Darat village head dies in motorcycle accident

BANTING - Kampung Kanchong Darat village head Mohd Yusof Sanuri died in a motorcycle accident in Jalan Durian, Kanchong Darat, here on Saturday.

Kuala Langat District Police Chief Superintendent Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor said the accident happened at about 12.30 midnight.

According to him, the 62-year-old victim, who was riding a SYM Sport motorcycle headed towards Banting, is believed to have collided with a Honda 125 motorcycle ridden by a 19-year-old boy.

"The accident resulted in the victim being injured in the head before being pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

"The teenager, who is a student at a vocational college in Klang, was rushed to Banting Hospital to get treatment for a head injury," he told Sinar Harian on Saturday.

He said the investigation was conducted in accordance with Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He said independent witnesses who saw the accident or have any information about the incident are asked to contact any nearby police station to help with the investigation.
