SHAH ALAM - Former Pas Consultative Council Secretary, Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali, has questioned Pas' intention to collaborate with Umno but not with leaders who decide to join forces with DAP.

Khairuddin, who is also a member of the Umno Ulama Council, said that the condition for political cooperation should be with a sincere intention to unite the people and collaborate on the basis of welfare, not with a hidden intention to break the unity of the coalition party.

"The political cooperation between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) was decided by the Umno Supreme Council, not by individual decisions after the general elections.

"The decision to cooperate with any party must also be made by the party, not by individuals.

"Does Pas want to play with the agenda of creating discord among Umno leaders, as Pas did towards the end of the previous administration at the Federal level?" he asked in a statement on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

He further elaborated that it should be remembered that BN formed a coalition with PH as a group of parties, not with DAP alone.

This was also after the 15th General Election (GE15) when no party had a majority to form the government with the decree of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

"However, this narrative is deliberately repeated by Pas to create a negative perception of the Unity Government's cooperation. This is how Pas works to build a negative perception of the opposing party," he said.

Khairuddin further remarked that Pas' leaders themselves had vehemently criticized DAP when DAP mentioned collaborating only with Pas, but not with the Pas President at that time.
