Father drowned while trying to save son at Pantai Miami

GEORGE TOWN - A man drowned while attempting to save his son in an incident at Pantai Miami in Jalan Batu Feringgi here, today.
In the 4.30pm incident, the victim Haryadi Salleh, 43, drowned while attempting to save his 13-year-old son who almost drowned.
It was reported that the boy was successfully saved with the help of the public.
Bagan Jermal Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Ahmad Rezki Faris Ismail said the department received a distress call at 4.28pm before a team was rushed to the scene.
He said after the team of firemen arrived, a man was reported to be unconscious after he drowned.
“The victim was saved by public members and was given treatment by a doctor who was on vacation in the area as well as the firemen and Civil Defence Force (APM).
“The victim was pronounced dead by Health Ministry officials,” he said.
He said the body of the victim was handed over to the police for further action.
