Kuala Selangor coastal areas under control, no significant high tide

KUALA SELANGOR - The coastal areas around the district of Kuala Selangor are reported to be under control, with no significant high tide overflow occurring following the phenomenon of a high tide that occurred early on Sunday morning.

In saying this, the Smart Selangor Command Centre (SSCC) said that monitoring was carried out by the Kuala Selangor Fire and Rescue Department in four areas in the district starting at 7.35 am this morning.

SSCC further elaborated that the first observation was made at the Kampung Baru Kuala Selangor Jetty, followed by the Integrated Agricultural Development Area (IADA) Kuala Selangor at 7.41am.

"Two more areas were monitored, namely Pantai Remis Jeram at 8.01 am and Pantai Jeram at 8.10 am," he elaborated when contacted on Sunday.

SSCC also added that the weather conditions in all four areas were favourable, with no rain posing a flood risk, especially in low-lying areas.

SSCC clarified that the phenomenon of the high tide had entered its third day on Sunday, recording a sea level of up to 5.6 metres.

"The sea level is the same as yesterday, and on Friday, it recorded a lower reading of 5.5 metres," he said.

In the meantime, the public is advised to monitor the current weather conditions and refer to relevant agencies for information regarding the safety of coastal areas.
