Exceptional response at Karnival Pendidikan Sinar BestariNURHIDAYAH HAIROM
SHAH ALAM - The Karnival Pendidikan Sinar Bestari that came to a close on Sunday successfully attracted 100,000 visitors during the three-day event, exceeding its targeted 30,000, making it the largest educational event in Selangor.
Not only that, it also managed to draw students beyond Klang Valley with participants and visitors from Negeri Sembilan and Johor.
Sinar Karangkraf Group Chief Executive Officer Farah Hussamuddin expressed great delight with the overwhelming response and was considering making the carnival an annual event.
She attributed the success of the carnival to the commitment and cooperation of exhibitors, government agencies and all parties involved.
"In the past, we organised the Karangkraf Carnival, with the last one in 2018. However, we rebranded it as an educational carnival this time around.
“This means that in addition to having fun, visitors can benefit in various ways, especially students.
“God willing, the educational concept for the carnival will continue in the future as we see it has received encouraging support from the schools, its students, teachers, and parents. Thanks to all parties who have contributed to the success of this carnival, including the exhibitors, and we hope they are all satisfied with the attendance of visitors," she added during carnival’s closing ceremony yesterday.
Also present were Selangor State Education Department Resource and Education Technology Sector Deputy Director Mohammad Nuri Hussin; Sinar Karangkraf Group Editor-in-Chief Zamri Rambli and Lifestyle and Entertainment Executive Editor Meen Tahrin.
Karnival Pendidikan Sinar Bestari was organised by Sinar Harian and Sinar Bestari in collaboration with the Selangor State Education Department and official media partners TikTok, ideaaktiv (Nu Ideaktiv Sdn Bhd) and the Karangkraf Book Group.
Themed "Empowering the Digital Generation's Education," the carnival was launched by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek on Friday.
The carnival was also held concurrently with the SinarPlus Food Fest and the Karangkraf Warehouse Sale, allowing visitors to enjoy, learn and shop all at the same time.
The carnival aimed to raise awareness among the public about the digitalisation of education in line with today's generation and as a preparation for the country towards Industry 4.0 (IR 4.0).
Among those who participated as exhibitors were AirAsia Academy, Petrosains, Farm In The City, National Planetarium, Farm Fresh, Les' Copaque, AEON BiG Sdn Bhd (AEON BiG), Bank Muamalat, Bank Simpanan Nasional, and Co-opbank Pertama (CBP).
Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Uniten), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Farm Fresh Selangor, Wardah from Pharmacore Technology & Innovation, Able Perfect Sdn Bhd had also set up booth at the carnival.
Authorities such as the police, Prison Department, Royal Malaysian Airforce, Fire and Rescue Department and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency had not only set up booth at the carnival but also carried out a demonstration performance and display of its equipment and vehicles for the visitors to ride and experience.
