Save Malaysia Rally investigation papers to be sent to AGC tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR - The police will hand over the investigation papers on the Save Malaysia Rally to the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) tomorrow.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said that a total of 29 individuals had been summoned and their statements had been taken to assist the investigation.
"We have opened three investigation papers of which first involves an investigation on all 29 suspects who were identified as participants of the rally.
"The second investigation paper is on the absence of notification of the rally and the third investigation paper involves statements made at the rally involving the participants speeches," he said in a press conference today.
He said that the case is investigated under Section 505 of the Penal Code.
He added that the three investigation papers had been completed and would be referred to the AGC tomorrow for further action.
Earlier this morning, Kuala Lumpur Police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid confirmed that a total of 29 individuals had been summoned and their statements had been recorded in with regards to the peaceful assembly.
According to him, the investigation of the Peaceful Save Malaysia Rally was confirmed to be non-compliant with the law of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
However, he said that the police are still tracking two more individuals who have failed to come forward to assist investigations until today, even after the police had issued a notice under Section 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
