Three bodies found stacked, tied in a room - Police
KUALA LUMPUR - The presence of police officers following a call from residents at Jalan Perhentian Kampung Kovil Hilir here led to the discovery of three male bodies in a shop-house yesterday.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said they received a call at 11pm regarding a fight at the said residence before a team of patrol car officers were sent to the scene.
He said the patrol officers then entered the house on the second floor.
"However, two suspects involved in the altercation had fled, while there was a Sri Lankan couple who were also tenants of the house.
"Further examination revealed three male bodies of Sri Lankan nationals aged between their 20s and 30s in a storage room, stacked on top of each other, with one of the bodies undressed," he said during a press conference at the Sentul district police headquarters (IPD) today.
He said all three bodies were also bound by the suspects with their heads wrapped in plastic.
Allaudeen said initial police investigation revealed that one of the victims was the child of the couple.
"Initial questioning revealed that the couple had last seen their child a day earlier and only realised the tragedy after the police arrived," he said.
Additionally, Allaudeen said an active investigation was being conducted to locate the two Sri Lankan suspects involved, as well as to determine the motive behind the incident.
"The suspects had no family connection with the couple, but they had known each other for the past six months, and the suspects had come from Klang, Selangor, to stay in the same house for two days," he said.
He added that the police believe the murder was planned by the suspects.
"The police also seized a knife believed to have been used in the murder. The three bodies have been taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
"The married couple has been detained by the police to assist in the investigation and is currently remanded for seven days under Section 302 of the Penal Code," he said.
