Family of four suspected missing returns home safely

BESUT - A family of four who was previously reported missing after being uncontactable while on holiday in Pulau Perhentian had safely returned to Kluang, Johor.

Suraidah Abdul Ghani, 52, with her two grandchildren, Sasa Alesha Mohd Saiful, seven, and Ahamad Dhani Mohd Saiful, four and her son, Mohamad Aiman Rafee, 21, had reached home today.

Besut District Police chief Superintendent Abdul Rozak Muhammad said a family member had updated their whereabouts to the police.

"Police received information from the family confirming that the four of them had arrived safely in Kluang, Johor.

"Further update cannot be given because we are unable to contact the victims' family yet," he told reporters today.

Prior to that, police had confirmed receiving a report of a family of four missing while on vacation in Pulau Perhentian.

He said that the report was made by their family members yesterday after they failed to be traced since Sept 30.

Rozak said the investigation at the holiday location found that the family of four had gone to Pulau Perhentian on Sept 29 and stayed at Senja Bay Resort before checking out at 8am on Oct 1.
