KUANTAN - Creating more community clinics and improving health clinic facilities in critical zones are among the improvements that are needed for health services here.

Despite being satisfied with the health services that are currently available, some are of the view that there is still room for improvement, for the comfort of patients receiving treatment in any medical facility.

Tuan Will Tuan Mat 62, from the Pinggiran Putra People’s Rental Housing Project (PPRS) here hoped the government would prepare a larger allocation for the health sector next year.

He said among the matters to be considered included reestablishing community clinics like the 1Malaysia Clinic that was once implemented.

“I think the community clinic is enough to aid patients with minor symptoms.

“It does not matter what name would be used for the clinic, what’s important was for the facility to aid the public in getting treatments quickly at a low cost,” he told Sinar.

Tuan Wil hoped the number of health officers in critical zones at hospitals in the state would be added accordingly.

"Staff requirements in hospital emergency zones, including in this state, need to be examined so that patients, especially those who are in critical condition, can receive treatment immediately," he said.

“The matter must be given attention to as residents in the area are increasing.

“They should at least improve the health facilities currently available by placing more permanent medical staff, equipment as well as sufficient medicine,”he said.

He said a complete clinic would lead to residents getting immediate treatment for common illnesses without the need to go through a medical clinic or hospital in cities.

Wan Nazarimi Wan Awang 39, said there were several problems that patient’s complain about while receiving treatments at government clinics including the heat in waiting rooms, which are uncomfortable for those waiting in long queues.

“I hope there are allocations to overcome this issue next year. If possible, fans in waiting rooms should be replaced with air conditioners.

“Those with air conditioners already installed, then it should be maintained to ensure that it is functioning well,” he said.
