Malaysia commends Egypt's role to facilitate delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza

PUTRAJAYA - Malaysia commends the important role of Egypt in its continuous efforts to facilitate the safe and successful delivery of humanitarian aid and relief to the Palestinians in Gaza.

The Foreign Ministry said the unimpeded channel of humanitarian and relief supplies, especially through the Rafah-Gaza border, is crucial for the survival of Palestinians currently suffering from the total blockade of basic necessities by the Israeli regime.

"Malaysia strongly echoes the calls by Egypt in urging Israel to immediately cease the attacks on the Salah al Din Gate on the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing.

"This is to ensure that delivery of humanitarian supplies could be undertaken immediately to the affected people in Gaza,” it said in a statement, Friday.

Malaysia stands ready to join international efforts to deliver humanitarian aid and relief supplies with full facilitation from the Government of Egypt through the Rafah-Gaza crossing checkpoints, the statement added. - BERNAMA

The five appellants withdrew the appeal as it was now academic and no longer relevant as they have completed their three-year prison sentence, which was served in 2021.
