SHAH ALAM – The 'Madani' and 'Rahmah' concept under the administration of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been wrongly interpreted according to Pas Muslimat chief Nuridah Mohd Salleh.

“Madani refers to the era in Madinah under the leadership of Prophet Muhammad.

“However, today, we see these terms being used in the context of our present leadership, and it appears that the current administration lacks the spirit of these concepts,” Nuridah said during her keynote speech at the Pas Muslimat (women’s wing) assembly, ahead of the party's 69th Muktamar at the Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam, tonight.

Nuridah also claimed that the Unity Government had frozen Perikatan Nasional (PN) accounts, without providing any justification and obstructed religious scholars from delivering sermons, which seems to be a direct contradiction to the ideals of the Madani Government.

“Due to this, it is only appropriate to revisit and reevaluate whether the current government truly comprehends the concepts of Madani and Rahmah.

“In fact, continuing with this brand could potentially harm the well-being of the people as it is not truly practiced nor understood,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nuridah added that the rising cost of living, a depreciating currency value compared to the USD, and the uncontrolled increase in the prices of goods now were contributing to the financial burden of the average Malaysian.

“It appears that the government is focusing solely on politics and not on aiding its people,” she said.

The Pas Dewan Ulama, Dewan Pemuda, and Dewan Muslimat will hold their assemblies starting today and tomorrow ahead of the general muktamar.
