PUTRAJAYA - Breast cancer survivor Norhashimah Nordin, who was the grand prize winner of the 2022 Malaysia Sales Programme (PJM 2022) Shop and Win contest took home a Proton X50 sports utility vehicle (SUV) today.

Norhashimah, 48, who hails from Kelantan received her prize from Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) deputy minister Fuziah Salleh during the final round of the lucky draw organised by the Ministry.

When met by reporters after the prize presentation ceremony, Norhashimah said she never expected to win the grand prize after spending about RM300 to enter the contest.

"I was surprised and sceptical when the organisers contacted me recently to inform that I was one of the 15 lucky candidates for this lucky draw," she said.

The stage three breast cancer survivor, who described her first-time win as a godsent gift said she submitted ten entries via the MySales Tracker app.

Meanwhile, Fuziah said the PJM2022 Shop and Win lucky draw, which ran from Aug 1 to Dec 31, 2022, is one of the key segments to promote PJM, a government initiative aimed at revitalising and rejuvenating the country's retail sector.

During the five lucky draw series, a total of 211 lucky winners received various prizes.

In the final PJM2022 Shop and Win lucky draw today, 15 prizes were given away which included three grand prizes comprising a Proton X50 SUV, a Perodua Attiva SUV and a Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle.

Fuziah added that the retail sector successfully achieved a turnover of RM661 billion during PJM2022, surpassing the set target of RM500 billion.

"A total of 302,522 business premises were involved in discount sales programmes throughout the past year.

"Through PJM2022, the ministry has achieved its set objectives. This year, we (KPDN) will focus on the Jualan Rahmah (Rahmah Sales) initiative, franchise business and the Buy Malaysian Goods Campaign," she added. - BERNAMA
